Lavender Crafts

I harvested my lavender bushes the other day. Since I only have 2 that are really doing anything this year the harvest was less than spectacular. Hopefully next year I will have more plants to harvest.
This is lavendula Hidcote and Alba (yes, it is white). Even though there wasn't a lot I still had enough to make some la
vender wands.I only made 3 and decided to dry the rest. I hope that later this summer I'll get another crop, so I can make more. :) If you're interested, you can find instructions to make your own lavender wands online. Just Google 'lavender wands'.

Here it is May already! Where has the spring gone? I have enjoyed the cooler weather, but today is gonna be a hot one! The heat should bring out the flowers though, and I am ready. I can't wait to see all my roses in bloom! They are my absolute favorite flower! One of my miniature roses is just about ready to open. It should be in full bloom when I get home tonight.

I have no idea what this one is called, but it is just about the hardiest little thing I have ever encountered. It is always the first one leafed out in the spring and the first one to bloom.

I'm almost embarrassed to post here now. It's been so long since I got my new blog all set up; I should have posted weeks ago. Shame on me! I'll try to do better now.

I wanted to share my (few) pictures of my trip to St. Louis earlier this month. My cousin Mary Dawn and I went to CKC in Collinsville, IL which is just across the state line. We stayed with her friend, Kay's son Ricky. We all had a great time, but decided that we had more fun visiting the cool little shops around town than we did at the scrapbook convention. I think we're going back in June to the rubber stamp convention.

Anyway, it wouldn't be a visit to St. Louis without visiting the Arch. So to prove I really was there here are a few pictures I took.

The Arch is a lot taller than you think. When you're standing under it looking up it's pretty amazing.

The park around the arch was gorgeous. It's right along the river and all the trees were blooming. They were so pretty. I'd have enjoyed them more if my allergies hadn't been acting up, tho.

It's Ready!!!

Hooray!! My brand new blog is all ready to go! Doesn't it look fabulous? Karen did a fantastic job on the design despite me being so very picky! Thanks, Karen, for all your hard work!
